A heavy cast iron stand slotted to carry a stout iron bar, with ten cast iron breaking bars. Comprising a heavy cast iron frame 340 x 120 x 100 mm with slotted end pillars to carry a stout iron bar. Linear Expansion Apparatus, Micrometer Screw Form
Description
A 500 mm long metal rod is supported in a plated brass tube with three tubules for steam inlet, outlet and thermometer. The tube is mounted on a stand with an adjusting screw at one end and a micrometer screw reading to 0.01 mm on the other, with terminals for connecting a bell or galvanometer to indicate contact. With copper, brass and iron test rods but without thermometer.

Description
Apparatus is fitted on heavy channel base, at one end of which is an adjusting screw, at the opposite end is a micrometer screw reading to 0.01 mm for measuring the expansion. Supplied with one each of aluminium, brass and iron expansion rods but WITHOUT thermometer. Consisting of metal rod 500 mm in length and 4.5 mm dia. enclosed in a well - lagged, metal tube with three tubules for steam inlet, outlet and thermometer. The metal rod to be investigated is supported in the steam jacket by detachable rubber bungs situated at each end of the tube.
