Copper calorimeter of 75 x 50 mm resting on felt pad inside wooden polished box provided with a brass nickel plated thermometer holder and copper stirrer.

Description

To determine co-efficient of expansion of a gas at constant pressure. A glass U-tube with a bulb and stopcock at one end, the other limb being open. An outlet tube from the bottom of the U tube passes through a rubber bung and has a stopcock at the end. The stem below the bulb is graduated 3 x 0.1 ml. An inlet tube with a mohr clip also passes through the bung. A glass water jacket encloses the U tube. All glass parts made of borosilicate glass requires only 20 ml mercury, which is not included.

Description

Apparatus is fitted on heavy channel base, at one end of which is an adjusting screw, at the opposite end is a micrometer screw reading to 0.01 mm for measuring the expansion. Supplied with one each of aluminium, brass and iron expansion rods but WITHOUT thermometer. Consisting of metal rod 500 mm in length and 4.5 mm dia. enclosed in a well - lagged, metal tube with three tubules for steam inlet, outlet and thermometer. The metal rod to be investigated is supported in the steam jacket by detachable rubber bungs situated at each end of the tube.

Description

Copper calorimeter 75 x 50 mm with felt insulation, outer vessel of 100 x 65 mm size with a plastic lid having holes for thermometer and stirrer. A thermometer holder is fixed to the outer vessel. Complete with stirrer.
