Description
The basic set-up of the colorimeter is: LED light source: Produces polychromatic light over the entire visible region, 45 Broad spectrum filter: The colorwheel has nine different filters. The filter employed is selected by wavelength. Each filter will produce monochromatic light at a specified peak wavelength with a bandpass of 20 mm. The filters enable the user to perform tests from 400 to 680 nm. Cuvette Holder: It holds the inserted cuvette during testing. It is imperative the cuvette be consistently oriented in the holder. Round cells usually have orientation markings to correctly position the cuvette. Detector: A silicon photo diode is used as the detector. Kaplan Turbine Test Setup
DESCRIPTION:
Kaplan Turbine is an axial flow reaction Turbine named in honor of Dr. B. Kaplan, a Gennan Engineer. This turbine is suitable for low head. The power produced by a turbine is proportional to QH. As the head (H) decreases the J discharge (Q) must increase to produce the same power. The present Set-up consists of a scroll casing housing a runner. Water enters the turbine through the stationary guide vanes and passes through the runner axially. The runner has a hub and airfoil vanes, which are mounted on it. The water is fed to the turbine by means of Centrifugal Pump. The runner is directly mounted on one end of a central SS shaft and other end is connected to a brake arrangement. A transparent hollow cylinder made of acrylic is fitted in between the draught tube and the casing for observation of flow on to the airfoil vanes. This runner assembly is supported by thick cast iron pedestal. Load is applied to the turbine with the help of this brake arrangement so that the efficiency of the turbine can be calculated. The Set-up is supplied with control panel. A draught tube is fitted on the Outlet of the turbine. The Set-up is complete with guide mechanism. Pressure and Vacuum Gauge are fitted at the Inlet & Outlet of the turbine to measure the total supply head on the turbine.EXPERIMENT:

Description
The motor consists of a two pole armature mounted between the ends of two bar magnets. The armature has a two section commutator and a pair of slip-rings on its shaft and is so constructed that the wire cannot slip off the iron core. The upper bearing and brushes for the commutator are mounted on a strong upright. Separate brushes are provided for the commutator and for slip rings and each are connected to a terminal. The magnets are held in position by thumb screws.

Description
Transparent Anaerobic Culture Jar of 3.5.lit. capacity which is made of Polycarbonate. The lid of the jar is made of Aluminum pressure die Casting fitted with Pressure Valve, Vacuum Valve, Safety Valve & compound Pressure cum vacuum gauge, three finger aluminum clamp and sealing "O" ring. This is recommended only where inside air of jar is removed thru vacuum pump and CO2 is filled in the jar thru CO2 gas cylinder to generate anaerobic condition in the jar.
