Description
This apparatus spins an electrically charged brass wheel spin, without the aid of a motor. When the wheel electrified by a voltage source (battery), the slotted brass disc sets up eddy currents throughout the structure. This electricity is then attracted to 4 strong neodymium magnets, causing the wheel to spin.

Earth, Neutral And Live Board Demonstration
Description
This apparatus is an effective demonstration of how the earth wire and fuse act together to protect both the user and the appliance. When the appliance is connected correctly and the LEDs in the appliance will illuminate to show the appliance is working. A fault is then demonstrated by swapping the live wire from inside the appliance to the case to show either the fuse melts (protecting the user and appliance) or in the case of no earth wire, the LEDs illuminate to indicate the passage of current through the person to ground. The fuse is easily visible and can be seen to ‘blow’ when a fault occurs.The unit is supplied with 10 m of fuse wire and full instructions. A 12 V DC power supply is required. Description
Apparatus is fitted on heavy channel base, at one end of which is an adjusting screw, at the opposite end is a micrometer screw reading to 0.01 mm for measuring the expansion. Supplied with one each of aluminium, brass and iron expansion rods but WITHOUT thermometer. Redundant Joint Apparatus
Apparatus consists of three suspension members (spring balances) of different stiffness, which are jointed at a point to form the redundant joint. Description

Thin Cylinder Apparatus
A heavy bench top unit for studying the stress and strain in a thin walled cylinder under internal pressure. A thin walled cylinder is mounted between two support blocks. Internal pistons and seals create oil sealing. A handwheel at one end of the apparatus enables the cylinder end conditions to be adjusted to either open or closed. The internal pressure is adjusted by means of a hydraulic hand pump on the apparatus. An analogue pressure gauge displays the internal pressure whilst a pressure transducer gives feedback to the Data Acquisition Interface and Software supplied. Strain gauges are arranged on the external surface of the cylinder to measure the radial and circumferential surface strain. The strain gauges are at various angles.
