Description
Vernier reading to 30 seconds of arc. The 175 mm diameter scale is fixed. The table and telescope movements are completely independent of each other and read to 30 seconds of arc by means of double ended verniers and magnifiers. Both rotations have fine adjustment screws. Coarse adjustments can also be made by release of clamping screw. Collimator is mounted on a fixed pillar and is fitted with 175 mm fl. achromatic objective with 32 mm clear aperture and a laterally adjustable slit 6 mm long. Telescope is mounted on a movable pillar fitted with 175 mm fl. achromatic objective of 32 mm clear aperture and x 10 Ramsden eye-piece with a glass cross line graticule. Both the telescope and collimator have rack and pinion focusing and can be adjusted for leveling the axes of both units as well as for adjusting to the axis of rotation. Prism table is marked with lines to assist prism placement and has three table leveling screws. It also has an interchangeable clamping unit for the prism and diffraction grating. Complete with prism clamp, diffraction grating holder and a Tommy bar for adjusting optical axis, In case.

St. Louis Motor Demonstration
Description
Students can explore how a simple electric motor works by doing a series of investigations. This St. Louis motor can be adjusted so students can study the effect of voltage and position of the brushes on the commutator. The motor consists of a two pole DC armature. The brush holder, with two heavy binding post terminals, can be rotated for experiments. The permanent bar magnets, supported by clamps, can be adjusted to the desired location. Forced Convection Apparatus
The unit consists of a circular pipe; loosing heat by forced convection to air, being forced through it. Constant heat flux is added to pipe by an electrical heater, provided with input control. The pipe surface temperature is measured at various points along length of pipe. Temperature of air at inlet and outlet of test section are measured. Thus the students can calculate local and overall heat transfer coefficients in forced convection, at various airflow rates and various heat flux values.

Apparatus for Verification of Clarke’s Maxwell Reciprocal Theorem
Apparatus consist of a mild steel beam 100cm long and 1.25cm x 4mm in cross section with graduations at every 10cm along the length. It should be supported on two knife edge supports 70cm apart with a 30cm overhang on one side. Reciprocal theorem can be verified by direct measurements of the deflections of various points with the help of a dial gauge due to a load placed at the reciprocal points.
