Objective:
To construct an optical transmitter and transmission of signal through Fiber Optics Cable. To construct an Optical Receiver and study the Attenuation of Signal when transmitted from Transmitter to Receiver end. Instrument comprises of Microphone Preamplifier stages consists of MIC (Microphone), Preamplifier and Amplifier (Voice is converted to electrical signal and then amplified) and fed to LED (Transmitter) and then through fibre cable, signal is sent to Photodetector (Transistor) and again amplifier and output is sent to Speaker Unit. Four pipes are provided with heater inside having input control. The apparatus consists of a plastic base 160 x 140 mm on which two contact pillars are mounted. Each pillar is provided with an external circuit. A balanced beam is supported by the pillars on two bearings which form the fulcrum. Two screwed masses are provided in the beam system, one moving vertically for the adjustment of sensitivity and the other moving horizontally for the adjustment of the equilibrium position, when no current is flowing. Shear Forces occurs when two parallel forces act out of alignment with each other. For example, in a large boiler made from sections of sheet metal plate riveted together, there is an equal and opposite force exerted on the rivets, owing to the expansion and contraction of the plates. Linear Air Track
Angular section aluminium alloy track, length 255cms, with staggered air holes, supported on two light alloy castings positioned 45 cm from each end of the track.
One support has a two- point contact and other one-point contact for lateral and horizontal adjustments for which a knurled screw is provided.
Large catapult arms with slots for elastic bands are fitted to each end of the track.
A fully fitted to one end of the track enables experiments involving acceleration under a constant force.
Identical end caps enable air to be introduced from either end of the track, bung being supplied to close the end not being used.
The vehicle buffer attachments and clamping screws are matt black to help interpretation of stroboscopic photographs.
