Elastic Properties Of Deflected Beam Apparatus
Apparatus consists of a mild steel beam 2.5cm x 3mm in cross section and 100cm long, pinned to two supports 70cm apart situated symmetrically. One of the ends can be fixed or given a known slope by applying a known moment at the end with the help of suspended loads. At the other end also a known moment can be applied. Vertical loads can be applied at various points along the span of the beam. A dial gauge with 25mm travel (with a magnetic base) may be supplied with the apparatus. The Lab setup consists of a channel having sufficient length and width in which water is supplied from the bottom. Required Notch is fitted at one end of this channel .A hook gauge with Vernier scale is fitted to measure the height of fluid in flow channel. Arrangement for fixing interchangeable notches is made. Set of three brass notches, i.e. rectangular notch. 60 V notch & 45 V notch provided along with the set up. Animal waste is directed through a collection funnel and onto a linear diffuser guide. The diffuser guide allows solid matter to travel down the top ridges of a 50% incline, passing over a urine port, and into a fecal collection vessel. Liquid waste flows along grooves down the inclined diffuser guide, passing through the urine port, and into a urine collection vessel. Moulded in Polypropylene, the unique Rotary Pipette Stand holds a maximum of 94 pipettes and rotates on a central vertical axis for convenient selection of any particular pipette.
The lower rotating disc has four concentric troughs with tapered sides and open bottoms that cradle the pipette tips protectively and permit water drops to run off.
The upper disc has a grid pattern concentric with the bottom disc and keeps the pipettes vertical.
Liquids draining off the pipettes are retained on the top of the stationary base by the outer ring.
