Demountable Transformer
Description
This heavy duty demountable transformer can be used for the study of transformertheory and many other alternating current phenomena. This kit consists of: 1. A magnetic circuit made of highly permeable U shape metal sheet, which can be closed using two clamps with tightening screws. 2. Section: 40 x 40 mm with 150 mm length and 170 mm height. 3. One coil of 6000 turns with maximum current of 0.2 A. Intermediary coil of 2000 turns output. 4. One coil of 600 turns with maximum current of 2.5 A, which is mainly used to create the primary of transformer. 5. One coil of 1200 turns with maximum current of 1.25 A, fitted with intermediary 400 and 800 turns outputs. 6. Friction In Pile Lines Apparatus
DESCRIPTION:-
The Set-up consists of 2 pipes of different diameters, which are connected in parallel. Pressure tapings are provided on each pipe to measure the pressure losses with the help of a Differential Manometer. Control valves are fitted on each pipe, which enables to use one pipe at a time for experiment. Present set-up is self-contained water re-circulating unit, provided with a sump tank and a centrifugal pump etc. Flow control valve and by-pass valve are fitted in water line to conduct the experiment on different flow rates. Theramal Conductivity Of Insulating Slabs
The apparatus consists of a slab assembly. The main Heater and a radial guard heater are sandwiched between copper plates. The specimen in the form of slabs of equal thickness are placed on either sides of heaters and cooling plates through which water is circulated are on the other Sides of the specimen. The radial guard heater ensures all heat of the main heater to pass axially through the specimens which is collected by cooling plates. By knowing the temperatures and Heat input, thermal conductivity of specimen can be calculated. The test set up is enclosed in an enclosure with insulation inside to provide undisturbed Surroundings. The design style of the apparatus is similar to as recommended in INDIAN standard. The difference is in sizes.

Motorised Gyroscope Apparatus
The apparatus consists of a rotor mounted in bearings. This rotor is free to rotate about
(i) Its own axis i.e. axis of spin.
(ii) Axis of precession.
(iii) Axis of gyroscopic couple.
The rotor is connected to the variable speed motor. The weight of the motor is balanced by another weight, which is on either side of the rotor. By putting weights on the weight platform torque can be supplied to rotor, which is also called gyroscopic couple.
