Specification
• Consists of firing circuit, SCR power circuit and load. • Line synchronized IC based linear firing circuit. • Line synchronization achieved by step - down transformer. • Four nos. firing pulse with pulse transformer isolation to trigger four SCR. • One no. potentiometer used to vary the firing angle (180° - 0°). • Carrier logic implemented with carrier frequency of 4KHz. • One no. toggle switch with debounceogic for pulse ON/OFF. • EPROM Based firing pulse frequency variation. • Two nos. toggle switch to select different frequency (Hz, 50/2Hz, 50/3Hz, 50/4Hz). • Power circuit consists of Four nos. This consists of 2 Microgrid, one 400W& 200W of power generation connected to a main Power Grid with all the components needed to convert a traditional Grid to a Smart so that many experiments can be conducted on this “Smart Grid”. 3Φ, 1KW isolation transformer with power input from utility grid will act as main grid to which 2 Microgrid will be connected through synchronizing panel. Optionally a commercial 1KVA Grid Connected Solar Power Inverter can be added to this experimental setup. By adding 1KVA commercial solar inverter, when the experimental setup is not used by student, it could be used to generate power.

Linear Expansion Apparatus
Consisting of a metal rod, 500mm in length and 4.5mm diameter, enclosed in a well lagged, nickle plated brass tube with three tubules for steam, inlet, outlet and thermometer.
The metal rod to be studied is supported in the steam jacket by detachable conical cups situated at each end of the tube.
The apparatus is carried on a heavy gauge channel base at one end of which is an adjusting screw.
At the opposite end is a micrometer screw reading to 0.01mm for measuring the expansion.
Supplied complete with copper, brass & iron rods but without thermometer.
