Window air conditioner is becoming now a day’s necessity. The unit demonstrates the application of window air conditioner & evaluation of its performance. It consists of a small room to which a small air conditioner is connected the room is provided with a transparent front cover with a heater inside to simulate heat load in the room. Various measurements are provided so that performance of system that is COP of system, actual & theoretical cooling capacity of system & power consumption of unit with different load conditions.

Stefan Boltzmans Apparatus
The Stefan Boltzmann constant is an important constant in heat transfer. The apparatus determines Stefan Boltzmann constant. The apparatus consists of a hemisphere surrounded by hot water. Hot water is obtained from a water-heating tank. When the blackened disc is inserted at the center of hemisphere, heat is transferred into the disc from hemisphere by radiation and its temperature begins to rise, and from temperature raise rate. (It is measured at the intervals of 5 sec.) Stefan Boltzmann constant is determined.

Thermal Conductivity Of Metal Rod
The apparatus consists of a copper bar, which is heated at one end, a heat sink is provided at other end. The test section of bar is properly insulated and thermocouples are attached along the length of bar. Heat conducted through the section of bar is measured by heat collection in water-cooled heat sink. Slip Creep Measurement Apparatus
The apparatus consists of a variable speed D.C. Motor, Driving pulley and Driven pulley of equal diameter. The pulleys are mounted on input shaft (Motor shaft) and output shaft. Thin Cylinder Apparatus
A heavy bench top unit for studying the stress and strain in a thin walled cylinder under internal pressure. A thin walled cylinder is mounted between two support blocks. Internal pistons and seals create oil sealing. A handwheel at one end of the apparatus enables the cylinder end conditions to be adjusted to either open or closed. The internal pressure is adjusted by means of a hydraulic hand pump on the apparatus. An analogue pressure gauge displays the internal pressure whilst a pressure transducer gives feedback to the Data Acquisition Interface and Software supplied. Strain gauges are arranged on the external surface of the cylinder to measure the radial and circumferential surface strain. The strain gauges are at various angles.
Kipps Apparatus
Kipp's Apparatus, made of Polyethylene has three main portions.
The top portion is fitted with thistle funnel and a bulb structure through which dilute acid can be poured, which reacts with a metal sulphide in the base of the apparatus.
H.S gas then evolved collects in the fitted with a self-lubricating PTFE plug.
The base is provided with a residual outlet fitted with a cap for easy cleaning.

The Lab setup consists of a channel having sufficient length and width in which water is supplied from the bottom. Required Notch is fitted at one end of this channel .A hook gauge with Vernier scale is fitted to measure the height of fluid in flow channel. Arrangement for fixing interchangeable notches is made.
