Description
The motor consists of a two pole armature mounted between the ends of two bar magnets. The armature has a two section commutator and a pair of slip-rings on its shaft and is so constructed that the wire cannot slip off the iron core. The upper bearing and brushes for the commutator are mounted on a strong upright. Separate brushes are provided for the commutator and for slip rings and each are connected to a terminal. Consisting of a metal rod, 500mm in length and 4.5mm diameter, enclosed in a well lagged, nickle plated brass tube with three tubules for steam, inlet, outlet and thermometer.
The metal rod to be studied is supported in the steam jacket by detachable conical cups situated at each end of the tube.
The apparatus is carried on a heavy gauge channel base at one end of which is an adjusting screw.
At the opposite end is a micrometer screw reading to 0.01mm for measuring the expansion.
Supplied complete with copper, brass & iron rods but without thermometer.

Made of Polypropylene and Polycarbonate, these autoclavable vacuum desiccators can hold Vacuum upto 740 mm of Hg for 24 hrs.
The top dome, molded in rigid and transparent Polycarbonate, gives a crystal clear view of the desiccant placed inside.
The Knurled knob on the top provides easy handling of the dome.
The lower part is made of Polypropylene. An internal groove is provided on the flange to hold a silicon rubber O-ring.
The Polypropylene stopcock is fitted with a self lubricating PTFE plug.
This plug work three way i.e. Vacuum creation, shutting off & vacuum releasing.

Stefan Boltzmans Apparatus
The Stefan Boltzmann constant is an important constant in heat transfer. The apparatus determines Stefan Boltzmann constant. The apparatus consists of a hemisphere surrounded by hot water. Hot water is obtained from a water-heating tank. When the blackened disc is inserted at the center of hemisphere, heat is transferred into the disc from hemisphere by radiation and its temperature begins to rise, and from temperature raise rate. (It is measured at the intervals of 5 sec.) Stefan Boltzmann constant is determined.
SPECIFICATIONS:
Water heating tank provided with electric immersion heater. Hemisphere made of copper sheet, 200mm. dia. Surrounded water jacket of 250mm. Dia. Test disc made of copper 20mm. dia. provided with thermocouple at the center. Multichannel digital temperature indicator 0-200 C with 0.1C least counts to measure the temperature of hemisphere and disc. Audible buzzer with timer to ring at every 5 seconds.
