Heat Pipe Apparatus:
Heat pipe is an interesting device, which is used to transfer heat from one location to another.
The apparatus consists of three pipes, viz. A heat pipe, copper pipe and stainless steel pipe. Ail the pipes have same physical dimensions. Copper and stainless steel pipes serve the purpose of comparison of heat pipe performance. All pipes are mounted vertically with a band heater at lower end and water filled heat sink at upper end. Nearly isothermal operation of heat pipe is clearly visualized from longitudinal temperature distribution of the pipe.
SPECIFICATIONS:
1.Heat pipe – Stainless Steel pipe, 25 mm O.D., 450 mm. Long. Sealed at both ends, evacuated and filled partially with distilled water – one No. 2.Copper and stainless steel pipe of same size as that of heat pipe – one each. 3.Equal capacity heater at bottom end of each pipe. 4.Water filled heat sinks at upper end of each pipe.Measurements and controls
a) Dimmerstat to control heat input to all the heaters – 4 amp. Capacity One No. b) A voltmeter and an ammeter to measure input to heaters One each. c) Multichannel digital temperature indictor to measure temperatures along the length of pipes.Four thermocouples are provided on each pipe. v Thermometers to note down water temperatures in heat sinks – 3 Nos.Services Required:

Laser Reflection and Refraction Tank
Description
Laser Reflection and Refraction Tank demonstrates the principle of reflection and refraction. The clear circular acrylic tank has a circular scale graduated on the white base of the tank, making it easy to measure angles. Adjust the pivot-arm mounted laser to any angle along its full 360° range and measure the angle of reflection or refraction. Rotate the laser and observe first a reflected ray, then both a reflected and refracted ray, and finally just a refracted ray. Leveling screws on the tank’s base make leveling quick and easy. The laser is attached to the pivot-arm by a magnet and can be removed for use in other experiments. Instructions included.
DC Servo Motor Controller
This trainer designed for versatile Applications / Experiments mentioned below. It consists of(i) a PWM Chopper Drive using MOSFET (ii) DC Servo Motor (iii) Speed Sensor (v) PI Loop for speed. This trainer system is a compact & advanced version for class room experiment setup for the students to operate and study a practical speed measurement using optical sensor and speed control system.

Milling Tool Dynamometers
This is a simple and essay to understand set up introduce by sharp techno systems to study the behavior of cutting forces during milling operation in three directions. With this unit students can evaluate cutting depth, speed and feed. The unit works on standard method of octagonal ring with strain gauges. It is in to part one mechanical rings sandwiched between two M.S. plate with strain gauges fixed on it. This set of octagonal rings transmits the relevant data to the force indicator during milling operation.
