‘Gravity’ By Free Fall Apparatus
Consists of an electromagnet housed in a plastic moulded case with connections for an external timer, with a heavy steel sphere, and a platform unit.
For determination of 'g' (the gravitational acceleration) by free fall method.
The apparatus consists of an electromagnet which is housed in a plastic moulded case with 4 mm socket connections provided to energize the magnet and another pair of sockets for connection to a timer in use.
To perform the experiment, an electromagnet is energized and a metal sphere is attached.
As soon as the power to the electromagnet is switched off the sphere falls and the unit activates the timer.
When the sphere hits the platform, which is connected to a micro switch, the timer stops and the time of fall can be determined.
For use with compatible timer (product code LBTM).
Unit conveniently attaches to all commonly used stands (stand not supplied, see Stand & Rod Assembly - Value Pack STD-RD).

Linear Air Track
Angular section aluminium alloy track, length 255cms, with staggered air holes, supported on two light alloy castings positioned 45 cm from each end of the track.
One support has a two- point contact and other one-point contact for lateral and horizontal adjustments for which a knurled screw is provided.
Large catapult arms with slots for elastic bands are fitted to each end of the track.
A fully fitted to one end of the track enables experiments involving acceleration under a constant force.
Identical end caps enable air to be introduced from either end of the track, bung being supplied to close the end not being used.

Pilot Static Tube Set Up
DESCRIPTION:-
A Pitot tube is used to measure the local velocity at a given point in the flow stress. A Pitot tube of standard design made of copper / SS is supplied and is fixed below Vernier scale. The Vernier scale is capable to measure the position of Pitot tube in transparent pipe section. The pipe has a flow control valve to regulate the flow. A U-tube manometer is provided to determine the velocity head. Present Set-up is self-contained water re-circulating unit, provided with a sump tank and a centrifugal pump etc. Flow control valve and by-pass valve are fitted in water line to conduct the experiment on different flow rates. Redundant Joint Apparatus
Apparatus consists of three suspension members (spring balances) of different stiffness, which are jointed at a point to form the redundant joint. The upper end of the suspension members being tied in a position to a vertical wooden board. Arrangement is provided to apply a vertical load at the joint and to measure its horizontal and vertical displacement on a paper and also elongations and forces in the suspension members by the help of dial gauges.
