A Bung, Stopper or Cork is a truncated cylindrical or conical closure to seal a container such as bottle, tube or barrel. Unlike a lid, which encloses a container from outside without displacing the inner volume, a bung is partially inserted inside the container to act as a seal. These can be used for all types of glass bottles. These stoppers fit tightly to prevent chemical leaks. Thermal Conductivity Of Metal Rod
The apparatus consists of a copper bar, which is heated at one end, a heat sink is provided at other end. The test section of bar is properly insulated and thermocouples are attached along the length of bar. Heat conducted through the section of bar is measured by heat collection in water-cooled heat sink. St. Louis Motor Demonstration
Description
Students can explore how a simple electric motor works by doing a series of investigations. This St. Louis motor can be adjusted so students can study the effect of voltage and position of the brushes on the commutator. The motor consists of a two pole DC armature. The brush holder, with two heavy binding post terminals, can be rotated for experiments. The permanent bar magnets, supported by clamps, can be adjusted to the desired location. This apparatus requires 4 D cell batteries with holder (not included) or a power supply and two connecting leads (not included).
