Clinometer Handle Compass is a reproduction of an antique Clinometer compass. The Handle Compass gets its name from its "handle" shaped sight, which actually serves two purposes With the compass level, an object can be viewed through the peep sights to determine its magnetic heading. The second and most interesting purpose is when tilting the compass on its side and viewing an object through the sights, its angle of elevation or declination can be found. A weighted pendulous arm beneath the compass needle can be read from one of three scales : Angle in degrees beneath the zenith (from straight up), angle in degrees of elevation or declination, and in inches per yard of slope. Free Force Vortex Apparatus
DESCRIPTION:-
The experimental set up consist of a circular transparent cylindrical tank in which four circumferential jets have been placed along the circumference of the cylinder near its bottom which helps in the formation of free vortex. It is assumed that the torque exerted by these jets is negligible. The Orifice is reducing bush so that a reduced diameter can be investigated. The plate can also be rotated with the help of a variable speed motor so that the cylinder rotates about its vertical Axis with the help of a V belt and forced vortex is formed. Conditions wear allowed to steady state and the depth of flow at any particular point was observed not to change over a period of time. The experimental procedure involves measurement of resulting free surface that represents the variation of the sum of the pressure and datum head.SCOPE OF EXPERIMENTS:-

Optical Disc
Description
A 500 mm diameter disc marked every 5° is mounted on a heavy stand and is rotatable around its centre. It can be held in any desired position. The lamp house, with a 12V 24 W special filament lamp has rotatable slots to provide light beams of varying widths and also narrow single, double and triple beams. Attached to the lamp house is an adjustable lens carrier with lens to provide diverging, parallel or converging light beams which are clearly visible in classroom. The lamp house can be held in any desired position around the disc. Optical elements are two 50 x 25 mm plane glass mirrors, and a metallic cylindrical mirror, each mounted in a holder, for reflection. For refraction, 20 mm thick acrylic semi-circular block, bi-convex lens, bi-concave lens each 140 mm long and a trapezium with 125 mm base are provided. Each of these elements has embedded magnets to hold on to the disc.
