The arc is graduated from 0 to 90 with a movable test object which is a white color spot of size 10mm diameter painted on a circular disc it can be moved with arc. An adjustable chin rest and a detachable leveling bar is fixed in front of the metallic arc. A scale and circular chart frame to hold the chart paper in position is provided at the back of the circular disc. The apparatus consists of a plain steel shaft encased in a bearing and directly driven by a small electric motor. The bearing is freely supported on the shaft and sealed at motor end. Heat pipe is an interesting device, which is used to transfer heat from one location to another.
The apparatus consists of three pipes, viz. A heat pipe, copper pipe and stainless steel pipe. Ail the pipes have same physical dimensions. Copper and stainless steel pipes serve the purpose of comparison of heat pipe performance. All pipes are mounted vertically with a band heater at lower end and water filled heat sink at upper end. Nearly isothermal operation of heat pipe is clearly visualized from longitudinal temperature distribution of the pipe.
SPECIFICATIONS:
