Air Conditioning Trainer General Cycle Type
The unit consists of ducting fitted with various air conditioning components. Airflow is generated by an axial flow fan and in the airflow, heaters, cooling coil and steam humidifier connection is provided. Cooling circuit consists of a hermetic compressor; air cooled condenser, thermostatic expansion valve and evaporator (i.e. cooling coil). Measurements of various parameters Torn cooling cycle and heating cycle are provided and students can easily visualize and understand the basic principles of air conditioning.
SPECIFICATIONS:
1.Cooling circuits – It consists of: a) Hermetic compressor, having the capacity of 2/3 ton of refrigeration (approx.) using R-22 refrigerant. b) Rotameter for liquid refrigerant flow measurement. c) Pressure gauges for high and low pressure. d) Prescott (i.e. high and low pressure cut-out). e) Thermometers for temperature measurement at various points In the cycle. f) Energymeter for compressor input measurement. g) Condensate measuring arrangement. 2.Heating Circuit – Air heaters with input control provided with energymeter for input measurement. Maximum heating capacity 1 Kw. 3.Steam generator and injector for humidification of air. All above components are connected to a duct of size 200mm. X 200mm. in which airflow is generated by axial flow fan. 4.Anemometer for measurement of air velocity, (range 0-15 m/sec. Following experiments can be conducted on the unit a) Cooling of atmospheric air. b) Heating of atmospheric air. c) Humidification of atmospheric air. d) Dehumidification and heating of atmospheric air. (Cooling coil acts as dehumidifier at reduced airflow.)SERVICES REQUIRED:

The Set-up is designed to verify Bernoulli’s Theorem experimentally. Set up consists of a one piece clear acrylic test section with convergent and divergent part section, supply tank, measuring tank, inlet water tank and pump for closed loop water circulation. The test section is connected to Piezometer tubes through pressure tapping at different locations on the section to demonstrate the Bernoulli’s Theorem. Microprocessor Photo Colorimeter
Microprocessor Photo Colorimeter is a compact and easy to operate instrument for Photo Colorimeter analysis of any concentration.
The output is available on a 16 x 2 line alphanumeric backlit LCD display in terms of %Transmission (%T), Absorbance (Abs.), Concentration (Conc.) and K Factor.
This instrument has 100 sample storage memory and printer output facility for printing data with any dot matrix printer.
The use of microcontroller has made it extremely versatile and accurate instrument.
10 mm path length matched test tubes are used for sample and blank.
The use of high class standard wide range glass filters covering 400 to 700 nm give extremely good results.
The filter setting is controlled by a rotating disc having 8 filters.
An automatic shutter is provided to stop the light reaching the photocell, when test tube is not inserted in the tube holder.
This increases the life of photocell tremendously.
Facility has been provided to store the last K Factor and the standard concentration value.
User can also enter any known ‘Factor’ for a test, thereby eliminating the need to re-run the standards again and again.

DESCRIPTION:
Pelton Wheel Turbine is only impulse water turbine now in common use named in honor of Sir L.A. Pelton (1829-1908) of California, USA. It is a tangential flow impulse turbine. The water strikes the buckets along the tangent of the runner. The energy available at the Inlet of the Turbine is only kinetic energy. The Pressure at the Inlet and Outlet of the atmospheric. This turbine is used for high heads. The Present Set-up consists of a runner. The buckets are mounted on the runner. The water is fed to the turbine, through SS nozzle with a SS spear, by means of Centrifugal Pump, tangentially to the runner. Row of water into turbine is regulated by adjusting the spear position by the help of a given hand wheel the runner is directly mounted on one end of a central SS shaft and other end is connected to a brake arrangement. The circular window of the turbine casing is providing with a transparent acrylic sheet for observation of flow on to the buckets. This runner assembly is supported by rigid MS structure. Load is applied to the turbine with the help of this brake dynamometer so that the efficiency of the turbine can be calculated. Pressure Gauge is fitted at the Inlet of the turbine to measure the total supply head to the turbine.EXPERIMENT:
