Specifications
Water stills are carefully designed to produce high purity pyrogen free distilled water. The water still made from 3.3 exp. borosilicate glass comprises of horizontal type boiler, condenser, constant level device, silica sheathed heater, along with stand and clamps.Features
Borosilicate condenser and boiler are with a removable silica sheathed heater and screw threaded connectors for ease of Cleaning. Distillate temperature is approx. between 25° to 45°C which is ensured by an efficient condenser. The stand is powder coated for rust free operation and lustrous appearance. The unit automatically switches off if water level in the boiler falls below heater. Cooling water from the condenser is re-circulated into the boiling chamber, hence saving energy. Objective:
To construct an optical transmitter and transmission of signal through Fiber Optics Cable. To construct an Optical Receiver and study the Attenuation of Signal when transmitted from Transmitter to Receiver end. Analog and Digital link can also be studied as this unit is complete with Sine and Square Waves. Bending losses can also be studied.
Features:
Instrument comprises of Microphone Preamplifier stages consists of MIC (Microphone), Preamplifier and Amplifier (Voice is converted to electrical signal and then amplified) and fed to LED (Transmitter) and then through fibre cable, signal is sent to Photodetector (Transistor) and again amplifier and output is sent to Speaker Unit. Power Supply of +6 VDC is used in Amplifier ckt. 2 No. Fiber Optics cables are provided (one of them is 50 cm long and the other is 100 cm long). One more fiber cable of 50mm length having connector at one end is also provided. Connectors a both end of fiber cable are provided for insertion in sockets provided on the front panel. Bending losses can also be studied in long wire.

Smart Energy Meter
A Smart Energy Meter based on Analog Devices IC has been developed to build an Advanced Metering Infrastructure (AMI). The AMI system facilitates networking capability via GSM, ZigBee and ModBus. A Smart Energy Meter Development system has been developed by us, which consists of 1φ/3φ measurement section, a 32-bit ARM controller, wireless modules and powerful software. Pin Fin Appatatus
The apparatus consists of a channel in which the pin fin is tested in both natural as well as forced convection. The channel is connected to the suction of blower. The blower is operated to touch the pin fin in forced convection only. In natural convection, the window above the pin fin is kept open to the atmosphere. Five thermocouple tapings are given along the length of the fin. Thus the temperature distribution along the length can be distinguished. Also natural and forced heat transfer co-efficient, effectiveness, etc. can be found out.
