The HVDC Transmission due to its advantages, like long distance transmission, interconnect different power systems (like 50Hz and 60Hz), more energy transmits than AC, less losses, make it essential for the students to study & understand the operation of HVDC. Vi Micro have introduced a trainer for this purpose “HVDC Transmission Line Simulator”
HVDC Transmission Line System consists of

• It consists of a 3Φ, 415V Variable AC source, 1.5 KVA step up transformer, a Multifunction Meter (To measure various electrical parameters of • Generating side or sending end) & a Miniature Circuit Breaker. • Earth Fault Relay is provided for protection against Earth Fault. • The module is covered with metallic enclosure and sticker represents the prime operation of the module. Elastic Properties Of Deflected Beam Apparatus
Apparatus consists of a mild steel beam 2.5cm x 3mm in cross section and 100cm long, pinned to two supports 70cm apart situated symmetrically. One of the ends can be fixed or given a known slope by applying a known moment at the end with the help of suspended loads. At the other end also a known moment can be applied. A horizontal frame is mounted on a rod fitted to a base & carries a steel wire stretched across it, the tension of which can be adjusted by a tightening screw.
A light metal pointer with a counterpoise is attached to the centre of the wire clamp.
A pan is hung from a notch in the pointer and has a hook at its underside from which can be suspended a light weight rectangular frame or a metal clip to hold a micro slide edge.
The tip of the pointer moves over a graduated scale. With rectangular wire frame, slide clip, six micro slides & 3 meters of spare wire.
