Description
All plugs are turned to a fine standard taper and are interchangeable. These are moulded in fluted plastic tops. The brass blocks are undercut and are fitted to a thick insulating plate. Heavy 4 mm brass terminals are used. Coils are non-inductively wound and are treated to be strain-free. Coil values are engraved on the plate and an infinity plug is also included. Blood collection and storage is done is special tubes which allow the preservation of the blood sample over long periods.
These tubes can be made of glass or plastic and the caps of these vials are coloured to indicate the additives in them.
Some of the additives are anticoagulants such as EDTA, sodium citrate or heparin.
Other substances include preservatives. The containers containing coagulants are capped with gold, red or orange caps.
The ones containing anti-coagulants are green, which contain heparin, purple or lavender indicates ones which contain EDTA, grey capped tubes contain sodium fluoride or oxalate. Blood collection tubes (also called as vacutainers) are extensively used in hospitals, medical centres and diagnostic centres.
In biological labs, it is used in experiments like haemolysis etc.

Flow Over Weir Or Open Channel Apparatus:
A ‘WEIR’ is the name given to concrete or masonry structure built across a river (or stream) in order to raise the level of water on the upstream side and to allow the excess water to flow over its entire length to the downstream side. Weirs may also be used for measuring the rate of flow of water in river or streams.
Different shapes of “WEIRS” generally used are sharp-crested weir, broadcasted weir and ogee shaped weir.
In the unit a centrifugal pump sucks the water from the sump tank, and discharges it to a small flow channel. The weir is fitted at the end of channel. All the weirs are interchangeable. The water-flowing over the weir falls in the collector. Water coming at from the collector can be directed to the sump or can be directed in to the measuring tank for measurement of flow.
