Journal Bearing Apparatus
DESCRIPTION:
The apparatus consists of a plain steel shaft encased in a bearing and directly driven by a small electric motor. The bearing is freely supported on the shaft and sealed at motor end. The motor speed is precisely controlled by control unit and sealed at motor end. The motor speed is precisely controlled by control unit and can be run in both directions. The bearing contains twelve equi-spaced pressures tapping around circumference and four along the axis. Theramal Conductivity Of Insulating Slabs
The apparatus consists of a slab assembly. The main Heater and a radial guard heater are sandwiched between copper plates. The specimen in the form of slabs of equal thickness are placed on either sides of heaters and cooling plates through which water is circulated are on the other Sides of the specimen. The radial guard heater ensures all heat of the main heater to pass axially through the specimens which is collected by cooling plates. By knowing the temperatures and Heat input, thermal conductivity of specimen can be calculated. The test set up is enclosed in an enclosure with insulation inside to provide undisturbed Surroundings. The design style of the apparatus is similar to as recommended in INDIAN standard. The difference is in sizes.

Description
Students can investigate the relationship between the intensity of transmitted light and the angle of rotation of two polarizing filters. A graduated cartridge containing two polarizing filters allows students to observe the change in intensity as they are rotated relative to one another. The analyzer allows quantitative readings to be taken using a voltmeter at five degree intervals as the polarizing filters are rotated from minimum to maximum transmission. Sterility Test Apparatus (S.S Manifold)
It consists of Stainless steel holders in the manifold of 3 of 6 to hold 47 mm dia membrane filters, the tops of the holders are connected to the outlets of flushing tube with silicone tubing and glass top cock.
A vacuum resistant flask or wolf bottle must be placed between the manifold and vacuum pump.
(Supplied without wolf bottle and vacuum/pressure pump).
These units are used for sterility testing when the membranes filter is to be removed from the holder for incubation in culture media.
Filtration area is 12.5 cm and has a holding capacity of 250ml.
Though the only vacuum is required for filtration, some pressure is required for flushing liquids.
