HVDC Transmission Line Simulator
The HVDC Transmission due to its advantages, like long distance transmission, interconnect different power systems (like 50Hz and 60Hz), more energy transmits than AC, less losses, make it essential for the students to study & understand the operation of HVDC. Vi Micro have introduced a trainer for this purpose “HVDC Transmission Line Simulator”
HVDC Transmission Line System consists of
• Generating Station Module • Rectifier Station Module (SCR or IGBT Based) • Simulated HVDC Transmission Line Module • Inverter Station Module • Loading ModuleGenerating Station Module
• It consists of a 3Φ, 415V Variable AC source, 1.5 KVA step up transformer, a Multifunction Meter (To measure various electrical parameters of • Generating side or sending end) & a Miniature Circuit Breaker. • Earth Fault Relay is provided for protection against Earth Fault. • The module is covered with metallic enclosure and sticker represents the prime operation of the module. Seven Segment LED Display Circuit
A common anode seven segment module is fitted on a board with 8 bit dip switch to control the each segment of seven segment LED display. The inputs A-D of a display driver are connected to the binary coded decimal (BCD) outputs from a decade counter. A network of logic gates inside the display driver makes its outputs a-g become high or low as appropriate to light the required segments a-g of a seven segment display. A resistor is required in series with each segment to protect the LEDs

Unsymmetrical Bending Apparatus
DESCRIPTION:
Apparatus consist of an angle of size 1” x 1” x 1/8” or in equivalent metric units of length 80cm is tied as a cantilever beam. The beam is fixed at one end such that the rotation of 450 intervals can be given and clamped such that the principal axis of its cross-section may be inclined at any angle with the horizontal and vertical planes. Also arrangement is provided to apply vertical load at the free end of the cantilever and to measure horizontal and vertical deflection of the free end. A dial gauge with magnetic base is supplied with the apparatus.EXPERIMENT MANUAL:

Linear Expansion
Description
Apparatus is fitted on heavy channel base, at one end of which is an adjusting screw, at the opposite end is a micrometer screw reading to 0.01 mm for measuring the expansion. Supplied with one each of aluminium, brass and iron expansion rods but WITHOUT thermometer. Consisting of metal rod 500 mm in length and 4.5 mm dia. enclosed in a well - lagged, metal tube with three tubules for steam inlet, outlet and thermometer. The metal rod to be investigated is supported in the steam jacket by detachable rubber bungs situated at each end of the tube.
