Spring Unit of Mechanical Model
Description
For showing potential energy in a wound-up spring and its conversion to electrical energy by driving a dynamo and lighting a lamp. May also be used to wind up a weight on a cord showing the change from potential energy to kinetic and back to potential in the raised weight. The steel shaft carries a clock spring with a free wheel device and winding ratchet, also an aluminium 'V' pulley 56 mm. diameter. Ice Melting Kit
Description
Demonstrates the difference in thermal conductivity of two different materials. The kit consists of two identical blocks, one made of aluminum and other made of plastic. When an ice cube is placed on aluminum it turns into water in seconds, while on plastic block it melts slowly. DESCRIPTION:-
A pontoon is allowed to float in a small tank having a transparent side. Removable steel strips placed in the model for the purpose of changing the weight of the model. Displacement of weight is measured with the help of a scale. By means of a pendulum (consisting of a weight suspended to a long pointer) the angle of tilt can be measured on a graduated arc. For tilting the ship model, a cross bar with two movable hangers is fixed on the model. Pendulum and graduated arc are suitably fixed at the center of the cross bar. DESCRIPTION:-
The Set-up is designed to verify Reynold’s Apparatus experimentally. The Apparatus consists of a glass tube which one end having bell mouth entrance connected to a water tank. At the other end of the glass tube a cock is provided to vary the rate of flow. Flow rate of water can be measured with the help of Measuring Cylinder and Stop Watch, supplied with the set-up. Water Cooler Trainer
The apparatus consists of a storage water tank, embraced by evaporator coil of the cooling unit, cooling cycle comprises of a hermetically sealed compressor, air-cooled condenser, a capillary tube as expansion device and an evaporator cell. Forced Convection Apparatus
The unit consists of a circular pipe; loosing heat by forced convection to air, being forced through it. Constant heat flux is added to pipe by an electrical heater, provided with input control. The pipe surface temperature is measured at various points along length of pipe. Temperature of air at inlet and outlet of test section are measured. Thus the students can calculate local and overall heat transfer coefficients in forced convection, at various airflow rates and various heat flux values.
