Description
The Complete Optical Bench Set is an economical alternative to conventional optical benches that provides accurate demonstrations of basic optics principles. The complete system includes: 1. Optical bench-double-sided meter stick. 2. One Object and Marker. 3. One Screen support. 4. One Candle holder. 5. One Pair of metal supports. 6. Two Lens supports 4 cm and 7.5 cm. 7. Five White board screens, each 10 x 12.5 cm with a millimeter scale along one side. 8. 12 paraffin candles.
Thermal Conductivity Of Metal Rod
The apparatus consists of a copper bar, which is heated at one end, a heat sink is provided at other end. The test section of bar is properly insulated and thermocouples are attached along the length of bar. Heat conducted through the section of bar is measured by heat collection in water-cooled heat sink. A panel comprising of controls and measurements is provided, which provides easy operation and sturdy mounting of unit.

Portal Frame Apparatus
DESCRIPTION:
Portal Frames used for the measurement of horizontal reaction are made stiffer by using M. S. flats rectangular cross section (10mm thick and 40mm wide). All are true to shape. The ends can be other fixed of hinged as desired. The end at which horizontal reaction, is to be measured, is provided with ball bearing rollers, which easily rolls on a smooth rolling platform. At the roller end a chord is attached which is connected further to spring balance. The spring balance records the horizontal reaction, for the measurement of slope and deflection. Both the columns of the portal frame can be clamped (fixed) or pivoted (hinged) and required.EXPERIMENT:

Natural Convection Apparatus
The unit consists of a vertical brass pipe heated by a cartridge heater inside it. The pipe looses heat to atmosphere by natural convection. It is fitted in an enclosure to provide undisturbed natural convection currents. Thermocouples are attached on the pipe to measure local temperatures. Heater input is measured on voltmeter and ammeter. Thus students can determine overall heat transfer coefficient and local transfer coefficients in natural convection at various heat transfer rates.
