Linear Air Track
Angular section aluminium alloy track, length 255cms, with staggered air holes, supported on two light alloy castings positioned 45 cm from each end of the track.
One support has a two- point contact and other one-point contact for lateral and horizontal adjustments for which a knurled screw is provided.
Large catapult arms with slots for elastic bands are fitted to each end of the track.
A fully fitted to one end of the track enables experiments involving acceleration under a constant force.
Identical end caps enable air to be introduced from either end of the track, bung being supplied to close the end not being used.
The vehicle buffer attachments and clamping screws are matt black to help interpretation of stroboscopic photographs.

A horizontal frame is mounted on a rod fitted to a base & carries a steel wire stretched across it, the tension of which can be adjusted by a tightening screw.
A light metal pointer with a counterpoise is attached to the centre of the wire clamp.
A pan is hung from a notch in the pointer and has a hook at its underside from which can be suspended a light weight rectangular frame or a metal clip to hold a micro slide edge.
The tip of the pointer moves over a graduated scale. With rectangular wire frame, slide clip, six micro slides & 3 meters of spare wire.

Helmholtz coils
Description
Helmholtz Coils are a special arrangement of coils that are placed in such a way as to generate a very uniform magnetic field between them when a current is applied. The strength of the magnetic field is proportional to the number of turns in the coils and the current applied to them. The Helmholtz Coils setup consists of two field coils mounted on a track to provide a uniform magnetic field between the coils. The proper separation for Helmholtz coils is marked on the track. A pair of precision coils and 400 turns of wire are wound on heat resistant former of about 150 mm diameter.

DESCRIPTION:
The apparatus consists of a plain steel shaft encased in a bearing and directly driven by a small electric motor. The bearing is freely supported on the shaft and sealed at motor end. Open Wind Tunnel Apparatus
Technical Description
A wind tunnel is the classic experiment system for aerodynamic flow experiments. The model being studied remains at rest while the flow medium is set in motion, and thus the desired flow around the model is generated. Open wind tunnel used to demonstrate and measure the aerodynamic properties of various models. For this purpose, air is drawn in from the environment and accelerated. The air flows around a model, such as an aerofoil, in a measuring section. The air is then decelerated in a diffuser and pumped back into the open by a fan. The carefully designed nozzle contour and a flow straightener ensure a uniform velocity distribution with little turbulence in the closed measuring section. The flow cross section of the measuring section is square. The built-in axial fan with guide vane and a variable-speed drive is characterised by an energy-efficient operation at high efficiency. Air velocities of up to 28m/s can be reached in this open wind tunnel. The trainer is equipped with an electronic two-component force sensor.Lift and drag are detected and displayed digitally. The air velocity in the measuring section is displayed on the inclined tube manometer. The tube manometers is recommended for measuring the pressure curves in drag bodies. Extensive accessories allow a variety of experiments, for example lift measurements, pressure distributions, boundary layer analysis or visualisation of streamlines. Thermocouple Calibration Test Rig
The Unit helps in calibrating given thermocouple for the range 0°C to 100°C. While calibrating, thermocouple is once dipped in ice for 0Q C and then in boiling water for 100°C. This is done till the thermocouple shows the actual temperature of ice (0° C) and boiling wafer (100°C) and a linear calibration is set. A mV meter is provided to know the corresponding voltage.
