Baby Weighing Balance
A single beam scale, robust steel body with epoxy powder coated parts.
The beam carries a sliding weight to indicate the weight from 0 to 5kg in divisions of 20 grams each.
One hanger and one slotted mass is provided to increase the capacity of the balance.
When only the hanger is suspended from the end of the beam the capacity increases to 10 kg and the reading starts from 5 kg onwards on the scale up to 10 kg.
On adding the slotted mass on to the hanger the capacity increases to 15 kg and the reading starts from 10 kg onwards on the scale up to 15 kg.
The tray is detachable and can be easily replaced in position by sliding on to fixed plate.
Second scale is provided which reads 0 to 1 kg in division of 10 gms.
Making the total capacity of balance 16 kg in to 10 gms.

Apparatus consist of a mild steel beam 100cm long and 1.25cm x 4mm in cross section with graduations at every 10cm along the length. It should be supported on two knife edge supports 70cm apart with a 30cm overhang on one side. Reciprocal theorem can be verified by direct measurements of the deflections of various points with the help of a dial gauge due to a load placed at the reciprocal points. A dial gauge with 25mm travel (with a magnetic base) should be supplied with the apparatus. Apparatus to be supplied should be complete with a supporting stand and a set of weights.

The Set-up consists of a ½ bend and elbow, a sudden expansion & sudden contraction fitting from 15 mm to 25 mm, ball valve and gate valve. Pressure tapings are provided at inlet and outlet of these fittings under test. A differential manometer fitted in the line gives pressure loss of individual fitting. Present Set-up is self-contained water re-circulating unit, provided with a sump tank and a centrifugal pump etc. Flow control valve and by-pass valve are fitted in water line to conduct the experiment on different flow rates.
