Ray Box
Description
To provide a simple means of producing single or multiple rays of light for use in elementary optics. Made of die-cast alloy, the ray box has an open front and vertical internal grooves to accommodate a slit plate and a cylindrical lens. Supplied complete with a metal plate having single and triple slits, a 12 V 24 W SBC line filament lamp and a lamp holder.

Water Cooling Tower Apparatus
The apparatus consists of a forced draught, counter flow type-cooling tower. A blower supplies cooling air. Air enters the tower at the bottom. Hot water is, obtained from a geyser. Hot water is sprayed over the mesh packing through the nozzles and it flows downwards. Evaporative cooling of water occurs due to the current of air and water gets cooled. This student can study the operation of cooling tower and calculate the energy balance.

Optical Disc
Description
A 500 mm diameter disc marked every 5° is mounted on a heavy stand and is rotatable around its centre. It can be held in any desired position. The lamp house, with a 12V 24 W special filament lamp has rotatable slots to provide light beams of varying widths and also narrow single, double and triple beams. Attached to the lamp house is an adjustable lens carrier with lens to provide diverging, parallel or converging light beams which are clearly visible in classroom. The lamp house can be held in any desired position around the disc. Optical elements are two 50 x 25 mm plane glass mirrors, and a metallic cylindrical mirror, each mounted in a holder, for reflection. For refraction, 20 mm thick acrylic semi-circular block, bi-convex lens, bi-concave lens each 140 mm long and a trapezium with 125 mm base are provided. Portal Frame Apparatus
DESCRIPTION:
Portal Frames used for the measurement of horizontal reaction are made stiffer by using M. S. flats rectangular cross section (10mm thick and 40mm wide). All are true to shape. The ends can be other fixed of hinged as desired. The end at which horizontal reaction, is to be measured, is provided with ball bearing rollers, which easily rolls on a smooth rolling platform. At the roller end a chord is attached which is connected further to spring balance. The spring balance records the horizontal reaction, for the measurement of slope and deflection. Both the columns of the portal frame can be clamped (fixed) or pivoted (hinged) and required.EXPERIMENT:
