Description
Vernier reading to 30 seconds of arc. The 175 mm diameter scale is fixed. The table and telescope movements are completely independent of each other and read to 30 seconds of arc by means of double ended verniers and magnifiers. Both rotations have fine adjustment screws. Coarse adjustments can also be made by release of clamping screw. Collimator is mounted on a fixed pillar and is fitted with 175 mm fl. achromatic objective with 32 mm clear aperture and a laterally adjustable slit 6 mm long. Telescope is mounted on a movable pillar fitted with 175 mm fl. achromatic objective of 32 mm clear aperture and x 10 Ramsden eye-piece with a glass cross line graticule. Both the telescope and collimator have rack and pinion focusing and can be adjusted for leveling the axes of both units as well as for adjusting to the axis of rotation. Prism table is marked with lines to assist prism placement and has three table leveling screws. It also has an interchangeable clamping unit for the prism and diffraction grating. The chassis of the four stroke four cylinder engine cut section model. The cut section model is constructed such that all the following systems can be demonstrated in working conditions.
ENGINE:
Maximum parts and accessories of an engine like cylinders, cylinder head, inlet and Exhaust manifolds, FIP, injectors, self-starter, alternator, water pump, radiator, etc., are sectioned to show the internal constructional details. The complete sectioned model is coupled with FHP 220/230V A.C single phase motor through a Reduction drive unit.TRANSMISSION SYSTEM:
This system consists of a Clutch and four speed gearbox assembly, the casing of which is suitably cut to demonstrate its operation. The gearbox is coupled to Differential gear box with propeller shaft and the different coupling used for this transmission can be demonstrated. The Differential gear box is also cut so as to clearly to demonstrate its complete operating principle. The gear shifting including the forward and reverse gear operation can be clearly shown. The speed variation and the rotation of the Differential gear box can be seen while gear shifting. By running the motor connected to the engine assembly the entire system with gear box, rear axle etc. can be demonstrated in running. FUEL SYSTEM: The Fuel tank is cut to expose the mounting of the level sensor and the position of Fuel section. The system is complete with mechanical Fuel pump. EXHAUST SYSTEM: It consists of Exhaust Manifold and silencer in cut section to explain internal construction. LUBRICATION SYSTEM: It consists of the engine Lubrication system along with the Lubrication oil pump is suitably sectioned. SUSPENSION SYSTEM: This will explain both the Hydraulic Suspension systems at the front and the leaf spring Suspension at the Rear. One of the hydraulic arrangements of Suspension mechanism is highlighted (with shock absorbers) and explained cut sectionally.BRAKING SYSTEM:
The Hydraulic or Air circuit Brakes. The movement of the Brake Shoes on operating the brake pedals can be seen in the area where the Brake drum is cut. The front and rear brakes will be operational. STEERING MECHANISM: The can be seen and included in the Steering wheel. Steering gear box and coupling of the same to the wheels will be shown by rotating the steering wheel, the operation of the steering system can be demonstrated. Fiber Optics Communication Set
Objective:
To construct an optical transmitter and transmission of signal through Fiber Optics Cable. To construct an Optical Receiver and study the Attenuation of Signal when transmitted from Transmitter to Receiver end. Analog and Digital link can also be studied as this unit is complete with Sine and Square Waves. Bending losses can also be studied.
Features:
Instrument comprises of Microphone Preamplifier stages consists of MIC (Microphone), Preamplifier and Amplifier (Voice is converted to electrical signal and then amplified) and fed to LED (Transmitter) and then through fibre cable, signal is sent to Photodetector (Transistor) and again amplifier and output is sent to Speaker Unit. Power Supply of +6 VDC is used in Amplifier ckt. 2 No. Fiber Optics cables are provided (one of them is 50 cm long and the other is 100 cm long). One more fiber cable of 50mm length having connector at one end is also provided. Connectors a both end of fiber cable are provided for insertion in sockets provided on the front panel. Bending losses can also be studied in long wire.

A ‘WEIR’ is the name given to concrete or masonry structure built across a river (or stream) in order to raise the level of water on the upstream side and to allow the excess water to flow over its entire length to the downstream side. Weirs may also be used for measuring the rate of flow of water in river or streams.
Different shapes of “WEIRS” generally used are sharp-crested weir, broadcasted weir and ogee shaped weir.
In the unit a centrifugal pump sucks the water from the sump tank, and discharges it to a small flow channel. The weir is fitted at the end of channel. All the weirs are interchangeable. The water-flowing over the weir falls in the collector. Water coming at from the collector can be directed to the sump or can be directed in to the measuring tank for measurement of flow.
