Three Phase Cyclo Converter
This module is designed for three phase half wave-step down cycloconverter. It consists of 18 Synchronized firing pulses, 18 SCRs, Relevant power supply and circuitry for frequency divisions.

Linear Expansion
Description
Apparatus is fitted on heavy channel base, at one end of which is an adjusting screw, at the opposite end is a micrometer screw reading to 0.01 mm for measuring the expansion. Supplied with one each of aluminium, brass and iron expansion rods but WITHOUT thermometer. Consisting of metal rod 500 mm in length and 4.5 mm dia. enclosed in a well - lagged, metal tube with three tubules for steam inlet, outlet and thermometer. Circuit Breaker Demonstration
Description
Investigate the working principle of circuit breaker type fuse with this demonstration model. The apparatus is built on a robust plastic base and includes resistive loads to simulate external wiring circuits. Applications of the thermal response of bimetal strips and also electromagnetism (movement from a solenoid) are clearly demonstrated in this model. When a 12 V DC supply is connected (not supplied) the LED lights to show that current is flowing in the external circuit and the bi-metal strip can be seen to bend as its heater coil raises the temperature. After a few minutes the bending is sufficient to trip the mechanism and the current path is broken. At any current selection a short circuit situation can be initiated by pressing the red button and this produces an immediate response from the solenoid to disconnect the supply.

Free Force Vortex Apparatus
DESCRIPTION:-
The experimental set up consist of a circular transparent cylindrical tank in which four circumferential jets have been placed along the circumference of the cylinder near its bottom which helps in the formation of free vortex. It is assumed that the torque exerted by these jets is negligible. The Orifice is reducing bush so that a reduced diameter can be investigated. The plate can also be rotated with the help of a variable speed motor so that the cylinder rotates about its vertical Axis with the help of a V belt and forced vortex is formed. Conditions wear allowed to steady state and the depth of flow at any particular point was observed not to change over a period of time. The experimental procedure involves measurement of resulting free surface that represents the variation of the sum of the pressure and datum head.SCOPE OF EXPERIMENTS:-

Generation Of Involute Gear Tooth Profile

DESCRIPTION:-
A pontoon is allowed to float in a small tank having a transparent side. Removable steel strips placed in the model for the purpose of changing the weight of the model. Displacement of weight is measured with the help of a scale. By means of a pendulum (consisting of a weight suspended to a long pointer) the angle of tilt can be measured on a graduated arc. For tilting the ship model, a cross bar with two movable hangers is fixed on the model. Pendulum and graduated arc are suitably fixed at the center of the cross bar. Natural Convection Apparatus
The unit consists of a vertical brass pipe heated by a cartridge heater inside it. The pipe looses heat to atmosphere by natural convection. It is fitted in an enclosure to provide undisturbed natural convection currents. Thermocouples are attached on the pipe to measure local temperatures. Heater input is measured on voltmeter and ammeter. Thus students can determine overall heat transfer coefficient and local transfer coefficients in natural convection at various heat transfer rates.
