The perimeter is an instrument for accurate charting of the field of vision. It consists of. A vertical stand on which a metallic arc is pivoted. It also bear a circular black disc to read the meridian in which the arc in shape of a semicircle with radius 330 mm. Its rotating in any direction and fix at any position with a tightening screw. The arc is graduated from 0 to 90 with a movable test object which is a white color spot of size 10mm diameter painted on a circular disc it can be moved with arc. An adjustable chin rest and a detachable leveling bar is fixed in front of the metallic arc. A scale and circular chart frame to hold the chart paper in position is provided at the back of the circular disc. The apparatus consists of a rotor mounted in bearings. This rotor is free to rotate about
(i) Its own axis i.e. axis of spin.
(ii) Axis of precession.
(iii) Axis of gyroscopic couple.
The rotor is connected to the variable speed motor. The weight of the motor is balanced by another weight, which is on either side of the rotor. By putting weights on the weight platform torque can be supplied to rotor, which is also called gyroscopic couple.

Description
The basic set-up of the colorimeter is: LED light source: Produces polychromatic light over the entire visible region, 45 Broad spectrum filter: The colorwheel has nine different filters. The filter employed is selected by wavelength. Each filter will produce monochromatic light at a specified peak wavelength with a bandpass of 20 mm. The filters enable the user to perform tests from 400 to 680 nm. Cuvette Holder: It holds the inserted cuvette during testing. It is imperative the cuvette be consistently oriented in the holder. Round cells usually have orientation markings to correctly position the cuvette. Detector: A silicon photo diode is used as the detector. The photo detector current will change as a function of light energy. Display:The current signal from the detector is converted to a numerical value, absorbance and is shown on led display
