DESCRIPTION:
Cables are frequently used to support loads over large spans such as cable stayed for suspension bridges, cable car systems and stadium roof. They are used extensively for permanent guys on structures such as microwave towers and derricks. They are also used for temporary guys during erection. The only force in a cable is direct tension. They are too flexible to carry any moment. A cable is used to carry concentrated loads, uniformly distributed load along its length and uniformly distributed load along the horizontal span. Specification
BOD Incubator is designed for low temperature incubation and determination of Bio Chemical Oxygen Demand (B.O.D). The BOD Incubator comes with a double wall construction. The Inner chamber is made of richly anodized aluminum or highly polished stainless steel with two / three removable perforated shelves. The exterior chamber of the BOD Incubator is made of thick mild steel sheet duly finished in enamel paint. Outer double wall door is provided with magnetic gasket and lock & key arrangement. The inner door is made out of clear acrylic sheet allowing inspection of material in the chamber without disturbing the chamber temperature. Door operated inner illumination has been provided. The gap between walls of equipment are filled with glass wool for temperature insulation. The cabinet is mounted on castors. The temperature in the BOD Incubator is controlled by a sensitive thermostat from 5oC to 50oC ± 1oC. For lower temperature working, a standard cooling unit with sealed compressor with protective devices has been provided below the chamber for safe and efficient working. Heating arrangement has made within the chamber for higher temperature. Redundant Joint Apparatus
Apparatus consists of three suspension members (spring balances) of different stiffness, which are jointed at a point to form the redundant joint. The upper end of the suspension members being tied in a position to a vertical wooden board. Arrangement is provided to apply a vertical load at the joint and to measure its horizontal and vertical displacement on a paper and also elongations and forces in the suspension members by the help of dial gauges. Dial gauges with magnetic base are provided with the apparatus.

Ripple Tank
Description :-
Transparent acrylic plastic ripple tank, supported in a sturdy plastic frame which has recesses to hold four legs with leveling feet.
The tank edges are shaped to minimize undesired reflections.
Tank has a drain hole closed by a rubber stopper.
With two light alloy uprights to carry a horizontal rippler support rod which is adjustable for height.
The ripple assembly, elastically suspended from the support rod, consists of a 4 – 6 V DC motor mounted on a wooden beam.
The motor has an eccentric weight which causes the beam to oscillate.
Two point sources are provided by two plastic spheres, each mounted on a right angle rod.
A metal rod is fixed centrally into a socket in one short side of the frame to afford support to the illuminant.
