Digital Colorimeter
Description
The basic set-up of the colorimeter is: LED light source: Produces polychromatic light over the entire visible region, 45 Broad spectrum filter: The colorwheel has nine different filters. The filter employed is selected by wavelength. Each filter will produce monochromatic light at a specified peak wavelength with a bandpass of 20 mm. The filters enable the user to perform tests from 400 to 680 nm. Cuvette Holder: It holds the inserted cuvette during testing. It is imperative the cuvette be consistently oriented in the holder. Round cells usually have orientation markings to correctly position the cuvette. Detector: A silicon photo diode is used as the detector. The photo detector current will change as a function of light energy. Display:The current signal from the detector is converted to a numerical value, absorbance and is shown on led display

Three Step Inductor
Description
This three step inductor consists of a coil of enamelled copper wire wound over an insulated spool. The coil consists of 4 layers of 200 turns each. The tappings at 200, 400 and 800 turns are brought out at 4 mm sockets. The output inductances at these tappings are as follows. No. of turns Resistance 200, Inductor 0.3 mH, Resistance 0.6Ω No. of turns Resistance 400, Inductor 1.2 mH, Resistance 1.2Ω No. of turns Resistance 800, Inductor 5.0 mH, Resistance 2.6Ω. Planck’s Constant
Modern LEDs (light emitting diodes) cover the range from deep blue (440 nm) to infra-red (940 nm). By monitoring the voltage at which each LED just begins to emit light a graph of energy input as a function of light emitted frequency can be plotted and an approximate value of Planck’s constant deduced. Complete with viewing tube but without power supply.
Pin Fin Appatatus
The apparatus consists of a channel in which the pin fin is tested in both natural as well as forced convection. The channel is connected to the suction of blower. The blower is operated to touch the pin fin in forced convection only. In natural convection, the window above the pin fin is kept open to the atmosphere. Five thermocouple tapings are given along the length of the fin. Thus the temperature distribution along the length can be distinguished. Also natural and forced heat transfer co-efficient, effectiveness, etc. can be found out.
