Journal Bearing Apparatus
DESCRIPTION:
The apparatus consists of a plain steel shaft encased in a bearing and directly driven by a small electric motor. The bearing is freely supported on the shaft and sealed at motor end. The motor speed is precisely controlled by control unit and sealed at motor end. The motor speed is precisely controlled by control unit and can be run in both directions. The bearing contains twelve equi-spaced pressures tapping around circumference and four along the axis. All are connected by light flexible plastic tube to the manometer so that the pressure head of all sixteen point can be observed at a time. Outer made of M.S. Sheet powder coated & inner chamber is made of thick S.S. Sheet. The gap between two walls is fitted with high grade glass wool. The glass window makes it possible to inspect specimen without disturbing inner Temperature. The unit has a temprature range from ambient to 60°. Theramal Conductivity Of Insulating Slabs
The apparatus consists of a slab assembly. The main Heater and a radial guard heater are sandwiched between copper plates. The specimen in the form of slabs of equal thickness are placed on either sides of heaters and cooling plates through which water is circulated are on the other Sides of the specimen. The radial guard heater ensures all heat of the main heater to pass axially through the specimens which is collected by cooling plates. By knowing the temperatures and Heat input, thermal conductivity of specimen can be calculated. The test set up is enclosed in an enclosure with insulation inside to provide undisturbed Surroundings. The design style of the apparatus is similar to as recommended in INDIAN standard. The difference is in sizes.

Forced Convection Apparatus
The unit consists of a circular pipe; loosing heat by forced convection to air, being forced through it. Constant heat flux is added to pipe by an electrical heater, provided with input control. The pipe surface temperature is measured at various points along length of pipe. Temperature of air at inlet and outlet of test section are measured. This panel is used to demonstrate the number systems such as binary, decimal and hexadecimal numbers. Toggle switches used to activate the displays showing the particular number entered. Input may be entered either as decimal or binary numbers with a toggle switch for mode selection. Decimal numbers are shown on a three digit seven segment LED display. 12 V / 2 A DC adaptor is required to operate it.
Venturimeter Orificemeter Calibration Set Up
DESCRIPTION:-
The apparatus consists of two pipelines emerging out from a common manifold. One pipeline contain a Venturimeter, second contains an Orifice. The pressure tapings from the Venturimeter and Orificemeter are taken to differential manometer to measure pressure difference. The Venturimeter and Orificemeter are connected in parallel and anyone of them can be put in operation by operating valves provided at the downstream. These valves can also regulate the flow. Present Set-up is self contained water re-circulating unit, provided with a sump tank and a centrifugal pump. Flow control valve and by-pass valve are fitted in water line to conduct the experiment on different floe rate.
